Shutterfly Expands Technology Team with Vice President of Architecture and Vice President of Application Development

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Apr 21, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLY), the leading Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, today announced Albert Tsang as Vice President of Architecture and Vlad Kuznetsov as Vice President of Application Development. Mr. Tsang and Mr. Kuznetsov will report to Shutterfly’s Senior Vice President & Chief Technology Officer, Neil Day.

Albert Tsang, Vice President of Architecture, is responsible for platform engineering, managing Shutterfly’s shared services platform and evolving Shutterfly’s architecture to enhance product enablement, scalability and growth. Mr. Tsang brings more than 15 years of experience in software architecture and design, product development and engineering operations to his role. Mr. Tsang joins Shutterfly from cFares, a leading consumer meta search engine for the travel industry, where he served as VP of Engineering and Technology and was responsible for software engineering, product strategy and design and engineering operations. Prior to cFares, Mr. Tsang was Director of Engineering at Nextance, Inc. where he oversaw engineering of Nextance’s leading enterprise contract management products for Fortune 100 customers. Mr. Tsang holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of California, Berkeley.

Vlad Kuznetsov, Vice President of Application Development, is responsible for development of product creation and e-Commerce applications. He brings more than 15 years of experience in leading software development and systems architecture. Mr. Kuznetsov joined Shutterfly from Walmart.com, where he served as the Director of Web Engineering and was responsible for all customer facing applications, including search, navigation, shopping cart, mobile and services. During his tenure at Walmart.com, Mr. Kuznetsov held numerous positions including Engineering Manager and Software Engineer. Mr. Kuznetsov earned his PhD in Telecommunications from Ukrainian National Telecommunication Institute and his MBA from Columbia Business School and the Haas School of Business at the University of California, Berkeley.
