SHUTTERFLY GETS PERSONAL WITH NEW PHOTO NOTE CARDS

Oct 01, 2002

REDWOOD CITY, Calif. – (October 1, 2002) — Leading online photo service Shutterfly today announced the expansion of its roster of quality photo products and custom gifts with the addition of new personalized Note Cards.

The 3.5″ x 5″ Shutterfly Note Cards let people enhance their everyday messages and quick correspondence by adding a photograph of their choice to the front of the card. The cards are printed on high-quality card stock, with a choice of glossy or matte finish, and come with matching envelopes in a decorative box for storing and gift-giving. A set of 12 personalized Note Cards costs about the same as similar store-bought cards ($9.99), but they inject a personal element into correspondence that no ready-made product can match.

“We developed the Note Card offering in direct response to customer requests,” said Shutterfly CEO Andy Wood. “People are finding that our cards are better quality than most store-bought cards, plus they’re unique to the creator. Because of this, they’re ideal for short, personal communication, and they make a wonderful gift with real emotional meaning.”

The Shutterfly Note Card is the latest in company’s extensive lineup of high-quality, customizable photo products, which includes wall calendars, mini-albums called “Snapbooks,” and picture frames.

“With a set of Shutterfly Note Cards on hand, people can lend a personal touch to everything from quick notes to family and friends or informal thank yous,” adds Wood. “They are an easy way to brighten anyone’s day.”
