Encourages Americans to Give Thanks and Send a Free Card to Military Troops and Veterans; Sponsors a Photo Contest to Recognize the Life of U.S. Army Families

REDWOOD CITY, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)– Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLY), a leading Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, today announced the launch of its Thank the Troops campaign to honor service men and women who serve our nation. Through the Shutterfly Thank the Troops Facebook app, Americans can create a free, customized Shutterfly card of thanks for military service members serving overseas and veterans living in VA hospitals. To distribute the cards of thanks, Shutterfly is partnering with A Million Thanks, a non-profit organization dedicated to thanking U.S. Military Men and Women for their sacrifices, dedication and service to our country. Together, Shutterfly and A Million Thanks hope to send more than 1.5 million Shutterfly cards of appreciation just in time for Veterans Day. Also during the month of November, Shutterfly will partner with the U.S. Army MWR to sponsor the “My Army Life in Photos” contest.

“Shutterfly’s vision is to make the world a better place by helping people share life’s joy, and we are thrilled that throughout the month of November, all Americans can help us express gratitude for the men, women and their families who serve our country,” said John Boris, chief marketing officer of Shutterfly. “We hope our Thank the Troops Campaign will bring joy to our service men and women around the globe.”

Celebrate Veterans Day by sending a free thank you card

Along with partners Chase and Verizon Wireless, Shutterfly hopes to get a thank you card into the hands of every military service member and veteran in a VA hospital this holiday season. Sending a free card is easy. Americans can access Shutterfly’s Thank the Troops Facebook app, select a card, add a personal message or photo, and share the card to their Facebook feed to inspire friends to create their own card. Shutterfly will take care of the printing and delivery. The completed cards will be distributed to troops and veterans with the help from A Million Thanks organization.
