Shutterfly Named One of Top 25 Best Medium Sized Companies to Work for in America

REDWOOD CITY, Calif., Sep 08, 2010 (BUSINESS WIRE) — Shutterfly, Inc. (NASDAQ:SFLY), an Internet-based social expression and personal publishing service, is honored to be recognized by the Great Place to Work Institute on its annual “Best Companies to Work For” list, presented by Entrepreneur.com(R), which underscores employee trust in the workplace. Based on company size and annual revenues, Shutterfly has been recognized in the medium sized business category.

Shutterfly was selected as a winner for this list by participating in the Great Place to Work(R) Institute’s selection process which includes a survey of Shutterfly employees based on the Trust Index© and a completed questionnaire by Shutterfly employees about programs and company practices. The Great Place to Work(R) Institute evaluated the company based on five areas: credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie. The Institute’s unique methodology measures the level of trust that exists between employees and management, the pride employees express about the company and the camaraderie employees share.

“As the leading independent player in our category, we are by nature an entrepreneurial organization and therefore attract employees who embody that spirit,” said Jeffrey Housenbold, president and CEO of Shutterfly. “Shutterfly fosters a trusting and respectful atmosphere where employees speak freely and share ideas. We are honored to have been recognized as one of America’s best places to work.”

That open communication has resulted in a number of innovations from the Company in recent years, including Shutterfly Share sites, the Company’s customizable, non-photo Stationery line as well as numerous enhancements to the manufacturing workflow for its two 100,000 square foot manufacturing facilities.

Based in Redwood City, California, Shutterfly is the leading provider of photo books, cards and stationery, photo Share services and top quality photo gifts. Millions of people have billions of images stored on Shutterfly, taking advantage of its free, unlimited photo storage.
